And this is where a roommate comes in. Take for example my buddy Steve. He entered the competition as excited just as if it were Christmas morning. But then he fell into a helpless situation when college just seemed like a curveball. Week one he was stuck at a crossroads of which text books he should get. So he copped them all-you Simpsons students missed out. Sorry.
Steve’s Adventure just goes to show what this challenge is really about. Though It’s not actually a quiz of facts but a sniff sending of a college student rite of passage. Knowledge is like that missing puzzle piece in the grand mosaic of academia. And learning how to survive college? Its a bit off from the simpler days of high school. Now the book smarts have to shake hands with street smarts.
What’s a smart college-bound kid to do? Have a chat. Seriously. sit there and have a heart to heart with a senior who’s grades are ALREADY SAFE. They will shadow you on tales since their time to rough waters was merely like you. But wait there is a catch! Listen good. Their tales of struggle and glory is GOLD. Blend their wise words with your cunning thinking and you are halfway home.
Textbooks aren’t all bad but sometime a banter and a maybe a word of advice is better than a mile long book on the mechanisms of astronomy. We seem that puzzle is all about to go further College stretches us to THINK ON OUR TOES. College Knowledge Challenge? That’s kind of the deal. In the end, the College Knowledge Challenge is the unwrapping of curiousity with a sprinkle of courage. Its a mix like none around and gives us from life with a little more seriousness.
